If you are lost…
Some people are really lucky. Yes, they truly are. And I admit it — I used to feel jealous of them (in a beautiful way, of course).
You might ask: Why, Anatoly?
Because they seem to know their life path. They know their way. They know their passion. And honestly… that is such a blessing. It is a gift from Heaven to know what you want from life — what makes you happy, alive, energized, and fulfilled. To know what gives meaning to your existence.
But what about the others?
What about those who feel lost — the ones walking through a dark tunnel, unable to see the light? Those who feel purposeless, uncertain, and confused about their legacy? This pain is real. Believe me — I know it.
That is why I wanted to write a short article about the “unlucky” ones.
For the lost ones.
For the seekers.
For those who dream of living a meaningful and magnificent life.
I know how it feels to watch happy people confidently following their dreams while you stand still, blaming yourself because you don’t know what truly makes you happy — what moves your soul. Even more painful is trying to explain this feeling to others… and not being understood at all. It can feel like you are speaking a completely different language. So here is one small but important piece of advice:
Don’t explain your deepest feelings to people who are very different from you. They may not be able to give you the emotional understanding you need — and that’s okay
Is Your Path Chosen for You?
I believe that the path is given from above — from God or the Universe, depending on your beliefs. Your path reveals itself when the time is right. Some people know from childhood that they want to be singers, artists, or doctors. They follow that calling early in life. These are the “lucky” ones.
Others are different.
They are like beautiful butterflies who need to visit many flowers before finding the one that truly nourishes them. Yes, your destiny may be sent from Heaven — but this does not mean waiting passively for a miracle. You must act. You must move. You must try.
Only action leads to change. And more action leads to clarity. There is a proverb I love:
“When there is fog, don’t rush forward.”
When you are lost and cannot see the way, pause. Breathe. Observe. Then take small, calculated steps — one by one — until the fog slowly clears. And remember this truth:
Sometimes you need to lose yourself in order to find who you truly are and who you are meant to become.
That was my own journey. And to those who say, “I don’t know what I am supposed to be doing here,” to those who are constantly searching — whether they are 30, 40, or 50 — remember this: It is never too late. Everyone has a different destiny. Everyone has different lessons to learn.
7 Steps That Helped Me Find My Path
Here are a few pieces of advice that supported me while I was searching for my own path:
1. Treat Yourself Kindly, With Respect and Honor
Do not insult yourself.
Do not blame yourself for feeling lost.
Sometimes, only when you are lost can you truly find your real Self.
2. Follow Your Intuition
Your inner voice matters.
Listen to it carefully and analyze what it is trying to tell you.
This voice is your connection with God or the Universe.
If your intuition tells you to travel — go.
Traveling is one of the most powerful ways to gain inspiration, clarity, and vision.
3. Heal Your Wounds
This is essential — not just for now, but for your entire life.
If you carry emotional wounds or pain in your heart, you must heal them.
Nourish yourself with love and understanding.
Read uplifting books.
Allow yourself joy.
And if needed, seek help from a psychotherapist or life coach.
4. Listen to Your Curiosity
Curiosity can gently guide you toward your path.
If you feel drawn to painting, take a class.
If tennis excites you, go and play.
Follow what sparks interest — even if it feels small or uncertain.
5. Take Calculated Risks
Remember the fog. Take small steps.
Move carefully — but move.
Do not stay frozen in fear.
6. Embrace Change
If you are unhappy with your life, something must change.
Your habits.
Your thinking patterns.
Your lifestyle.
Change is uncomfortable — but necessary.
7. Pay Attention to the Signs Around You
Life speaks constantly.
Through people.
Through situations.
Through repeated patterns.
Observe your environment carefully — it may be guiding you toward the truth.
